My R8 is making a creaking/squeaking noise from the rear suspension. It is audible when I drive at low speed over an uneven surface (probably drowned out by the engine at higher speeds). I had a similar noise several months ago. My dealer’s R8 tech diagnosed as coming from the "level control system sensor" in the rear suspension …apparently it was rubbing against something so he reinstalled it "correctly" and the noise disappeared. Now I hear a similar noise (car is booked in for next week).
Has anyone else has had this problem?
Well the milltek is fitted and I am utterly delighted.Awesome gti did the job,6 hours i total for a total bill of £1600.The car sounds amazing and had a definite improvement in throttle response.

My R8 is experiencing a metal scraping/rattling sound that lasts about 1-2 seconds after starting the car. It also occurs occasionally between gear shifts between 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd. A few days ago I had white smoke fill the engine compartment for about 30 seconds. Anyone have an idea?
Clutch? Transmission? (tiptronic)
I have over 8,000 km now and one of the few things I dislike with my R8 is the hesitation of the engine at very low revs. It happens rather frequently, and feels a little like a misfire.
Is that inherent to the engine or is it a fault that I should have my friendly Audi dealer correct ?

Audi reported that the company sold 516,000 cars worldwide between January and June, meaning an increase with 1.4 percent compared with the first six months of 2007 and also the best first half-year in company history. Audi also expects 2008 to be the year when they will achieve record sales of more than one million cars for the first time in the history.
In the first six months, Audi sales increased in particular in Asia-Pacific: from January to June, Audi sold around 78,900 cars here, 19.9 percent more than last year (2007: 65,792). In June, the figure was approximately 13,900 cars, an increase of 16.6 percent (2007: 11,913). The markets in Eastern Europe are also showing consistently positive development: between January and June, Audi’s sales figures grew by 15.1 percent to more than 22,400 cars (2007: 19,494).
In the US, Audi recorded increased sales in June – bucking the trend in a significantly declining overall market. With 8,203 cars, the premium car brand sold 5.3 percent more cars than in the same month last year (2007: 7,789).

Has anyone taken the ADE ? A couple of us are strongly considering before our Vehicles arrive.
