O.CT Tuning Audi RS6 and R8

o.ct TuningThe top-end models from Audi, the R8 and RS6, have received a lot of attention in their own right as well as numerous tuned versions since their release. O.CT is adding to the list with a pair of their own, but instead of following the pack with the usual slate of appearance and engine mods, they’ve approached the job from a unique angle.

The engine tuning of both cars is accomplished with nothing more than a special OBD port hookup and some intake and exhaust components. The end results are considerably faster than their stock counterparts, however. The R8 gains 26hp (19kW) for a total of 446hp (332kW), cutting the 0-124mph (200km/h) acceleration time by 1.5 seconds. Gains come by way of a refined exhaust system that optimizes back-pressure and tunes for sound as well. No appearance modifications were made: the car is untouched, right down to the factory wheels.

For the RS6, O.CT went more all-out thanks to the twin-turbo setup, bringing power up from the already massive 580hp (432kW) stock output to 650hp (485kW) and 553lb-ft (750Nm) of torque. That means the O.CT RS6 is about mid-pack with its tuner rivals, yet has enough extra power to outpace the standard RS6 by three seconds, or over 30 car lengths, over the 0-250km/h dash, according to the tuner outfit. The car can continue on to a top speed of 325km/h, but it will have to be fitted with tires that are capable of the job.

If 650hp (485kW) just isn’t enough for you (the tires will be screaming already) O.CT has an advanced tuning treatment that expands output to 700hp (522kW). Along with the upgrade comes a unique carbon fiber roof spoiler. More information: O.CT Tuning - Source: Motorauthority

coilovers KW Audi Rs6 KW suspensions, the specialist for performance suspension systems presents a height adjustable spring kit for the Audi RS6 Avant Typ 4F. The kit can be used with the factory suspension system and also with Audi’s Dynamic Ride Control (DRC). The height adjustable spring set by KW does not only improve the appearance, but also the driving dynamics.

Factory ride comfort is maintained through the various choices of the DRC settings. Owners will notice an increase in road handling capabilities with the KW spring set. This will be more apparent through sweeping corners and twisty roads, providing a sportier feel over the factory model.

The KW Audi RS6 spring set is a lowering solution which utilizes a main spring, helper spring, threaded collar and spring perch – comparable to a coil over kit to adjust the vehicle height on the front shocks. In the rear, a main spring, threaded spacer and spring perch allow for the separate spring setup to be adjusted. The front axis can be lowered by 10-40 mm, the rear axis by 15-45 mm.

This system can be used to lower factory height vehicles without having to de-activate the optional electronic DRC. The hydraulic rolling balance feature remains functional and the installation of the spring set can be installed without cutting any hydraulic lines. The height adjustable KW spring set also, includes additional bumpstops and dust boots.

imsa audi tuning IMSA is mostly known for its Lamborghini tuning programs, but now IMSA decided to join in the Audi RS6 tuner war that has hit the German tuning scene by presenting a souped-up version of the range-topping Avant model.

Modifications to the engine that include a remapped ECU and a new exhaust system boost the 5.0-liter V10’s output to 650 HP (from 580 HP) while torque has also been increased to 745 Nm or 550-lbs/ft.

With the extra power on board, the IMSA RS6 will sprint from 0-100km/h in just 4.2 seconds, pass 200km/h in 13.8 seconds, and reach an unrestricted top speed of 300km/h. According to IMSA, the outrageously powered station wagon can accelerate from standstill to 200 km/h (125 mph) in just 13.8 sec and on to a top speed of over 300 km/h or 187 mph.

Additional modifications include a lower suspension, with new springs lowering the car by 25mm and give it a slightly firmer ride to improve handling. A set of ultra light 20-inch alloy wheels derived from the company’s tuning kit for the Gallardo that are wrapped around 275 performance tires.

The super station wagon - the ABT RS6

Posted on 21st August 2008 by admin in Audi A6, Audi automobile, Audi news, Audi tunning

Following the last article from the Audi RS6 Tuner battle, here is some information on the ABT RS6. How do you get the superlative of the word “car”? The answer is easy and still impressing: car - fast car - ABT RS6, as ABT Sportsline has set a unique benchmark in engineering: thanks to ABT Power the V10 TFSI delivers 700hp (515kW) - and that makes the RS6 a real super sportscar in an elegant but very useful clothing.

For comparison: the serial RS6 achieves 580hp (426kW). The “station racecar” displays its maximum torque of enormous 800Nm (series: 650Nm) between 2400 and 6100 rpm. What does that mean? The ABT RS6 is at any time and in any situation a superior vehicle with an engine that belongs to the extremely fast ones thanks to its top speed of 310 km/h. Of course the currently most dynamic one of ABT Sportsline’s car creations is easy to steer through daily traffic. The driver should, however, contain his leadfoot: beware when the ABT RS6 is unleased…

Suspension springs and lowering provide for optimal road holding; Christian Abt has checked the tuning with his legendary “buttometer” and has had a whole lot of fun: “The RS6 is breathtakingly fast; it shows how perfectly knowledge in the field of engine technology and racing experience blend together.” Also when it comes to the body kit, both parts of the company - motorsports and car tuning - work closely together. So the rear wing is not only a beautiful add-on part for the super station wagon, it also reduces the lift of the bodywork. Striking style elements are the front spoiler, a highly dynamic “carbon-blade” and the 4-pipe-rear muffler typical for ABT in matt black finish. The dynamic BR wheel rim in extravagant 20 inches suits the Allgäu super station wagon particularly well. This makes the RS6 look very sporty and unique; still, the agile 700hp are not too apparent: the ABT RS6 is surrounded by an air of understatement, as its spectacular riding qualities only show on the road. The RS6 is a benchmark set by ABT Sportsline.

Audi RS6 R The new Audi RS6 innately impresses discerning customers thanks to its high-powered twin turbo V10 engine with 5.0 l displacement. Only a short while after the car’s market launch, MTM, the Audi specialist from Wettstetten near Ingolstadt, Germany, already has performance kits in its program, which boost the performance of this super-fast station wagon.

For instance, the MTM engineers boost the engine power electronically to 656 bhp at 6,180 rpm. If need be, the MTM-RS6 R will run upon request (MTM regulates the increments electronically) at speeds of either 279, 290 or 310 km/h. The outstanding torque of now 785 Nm (production version 650 Nm) allows it to accelerate like lightning from zero to 100 km/h in an impressive 3.9 seconds. Price: € 3999.
An advanced version of the MTM performance kit is in preparation, which, with a massive 702 bhp, even outshines the performance data of most super sports cars. This additional boost in performance is made possible thanks to a stainless steel exhaust system with throttle control downstream from the catalytic converter and a sports air filter. The 702 bhp kit (plus MTM guarantee) is available for € 9950.

‘Reserved appearance obliges’: hence, the only embellishments MTM makes to the sporty design of the RS6 is to add a discreet carbon-fiber front spoiler lip and a carbon-fiber rear diffuser, which serve to accentuate the elegant styling of the Audi RS6.

The exclusive sports suite from MTM for the Audi RS6 is rounded off by the large 21″ MTM bimoto wheel rims in 10.5 x 21″, which are available in the finishes “shiny” or “diamond-cut”, and which MTM also offers in conjunction with size 285/30ZR21 tires. As an alternative, MTM offers its bimoto wheel rim also as the new, forged 20 inch version. Fitting forged alloy wheels, which are lighter in weight compared with cast alloy wheels, enhances both the agility and braking performance of this powerful station wagon.

MTM offers this combination of a power-boosted engine, modified breathing, exhaust system, suspension struts and 21″ wheels for a package price starting from € 15,500.
